Session 1. Mathematical Models. Exploring how mathematical models & images can enhance the mathematical experience for children and aid their learning; take this approach further into the use of manipulatives and encourage collaborative work.
Session 2. Hands-on Teaching. Develop the hands on approach and look at wide range of approaches to teaching fractions; progression in fractions from Year 1 to Year 6.
Session 3. Taking it Outdoors. Take the children’s mathematical learning outdoors with giant 100 squares, a parachute and other gross motor skills based activities.
