Session 2: Progression in multiplication and division. Exploring progression in multiplication and division, from sharing, grouping, empty number line towards a formal compact written method.
Session 3: Progression in addition and subtraction. Exploring progression in addition and subtraction from metal methods, to using an empty number line, expanded and compact written methods.

Session 1. Mathematical Models. Exploring how mathematical models & images can enhance the mathematical experience for children and aid their learning; take this approach further into the use of manipulatives and encourage collaborative work.
Session 2. Hands-on Teaching. Develop the hands on approach and look at wide range of approaches to teaching fractions; progression in fractions from Year 1 to Year 6.
Session 3. Taking it Outdoors. Take the children’s mathematical learning outdoors with giant 100 squares, a parachute and other gross motor skills based activities.
