In promoting independent learning we are encouraging and enabling students to become self-directed learners and to have more autonomy and control over it. Both the OFSTED framework and the IB learner profile recognise the importance of independence and collaboration in the classroom to generate high levels of enthusiasm and a commitment to learning. In this CPD course for A Level and IB Biology teachers we apply this to post 16 Biology teaching.
