Session 1: MFL in the new curriculum. The revised National Curriculum in Modern Languages from September 2014. The first part of the morning will look at the detail and implications of the changes and what adjustments to planning, classroom practice and schemes of work may be needed to meet the requirements.
Session 2: Assessment. Building in excellent formative assessment practice as well as approaches and responsibilities in regard to summative assessment in the absence of National Curriculum Levels.
Session 3: Practicalities. What excellent teaching and learning looks like in practice and how to achieve it through heightened learner motivation, quality teaching and smart use of resources. The session’s main aim is to work on smart, time-saving approaches in classroom delivery.
