Session 1: An interdisciplinary approach. In this session we will explore what is meant by multi-agency working and the implications of the SEN Code of Practice on how we develop partnerships to ensure best outcomes for children and families.

Session 2: A “Team around the Child” By the end of this session you will be more aware of how to develop an interdisciplinary process to improve support for children and young people with complex needs, as well as their families.

Session 3: What a difference a team makes! Understanding the different agency roles, developing positive working practices and improving communication. We will explore how to develop the role of Lead Practitioner and how we can support one another in the development of new practices.

Session 4: Top tips! We will look at how you can ensure that your children and their families are able to access relevant provision and support to meet their needs, and how this can be evaluated to ensure best outcomes.

Details

Multi-agency working lies at the heart of the SEN Code of Practice 2014 and is an organic process. It often falls to the SENCO to act as the front line practitioner in the development of this process. This CPD training course will give you the knowledge, understanding and confidence to be able to act as lead practitioner in the development of the new Education and Health Care Plans. This course can also be run in your school as an INSET.
