Session 1 Why Pupils need a voice.

This interactive activities session will focus on what Pupil Voice is and is not, how enhanced Pupil Voice can add to a school community and how the lessons of Pupil Voice can help develop a more cohesive society. Pupils will evaluate the current position.

Session 2 How can Pupil Voice be made powerful and practical?

This session is a lesson in practical democracy. During the activities we look at systems and structures for school councils, wider involvement of pupils in policy and decision making and dimensions of global community, charity work and building advocacy skills.

Session 3 Leadership of learners.
This session will focus on building leadership skills in pupil teams. The activities will look at personality, the dynamics of teamwork, responsibility balanced with accountability and managing self and others.

Details

A day of CPD training for those students who lead or are involved with the Student Council/Pupil/Learner Voice in their setting. The day will give you practical and useful strategies to make your school council run effectively and with engagement from other students and teachers. You will also learn how to prepare a strategic development plan for Pupil Voice in your school.
